We discover a couple looking like René Magritte’s lovers who have exchanged their veil against a plastic bag.
In research of sensitivity, this video fable question our rupture with the rest of the living world and our (in)ability to identify with it.
We are this living being caught in a trap: how could we forget about it?
Director’s Statement
Creation has for me a vocation to connect to the living. In my opinion, each creation is a fable. The illustration of a surreal moral truth dealing with reality, awakening the real. I like the word “fable” because there is nothing more beautiful than poetry to touch the soul. A fable symbolizes and transfigures. It works and reinvents our images. Through this reinvention, it traces its path to us and questions our vision of reality. Here, it’s with video, dance and photography that I speak up and deliver a field of images with multiple perspectives and readings. My work is combining dance, video production and photography, it implements objects choreographic and cinematographic poetics. It is part of a process to make sense where artistic creation mixes with the desire to be useful and raise awareness. Images become a critical, sensitive and artistic tool to observe our society and question the illusions inherent in today’s truths. In order to make us think better tomorrow, these visual fables imprinted with reality reinvent our perspectives, they question us about our perceptions and the consequences of a future. In a universe between surrealism, physicality and poetry. My work draws gestural inspiration from everyday life to reinvent it through living art, hip hop language and contemporary dance.
